Wedding Invitations

These are the invitations to our wedding that I designed. I'm so happy with how they turned out. Now we just have to finish stuffing those envelopes!

The Imagination of a Child

Sometimes I wish I still had the mind of a child. I'm happy with who I am now and I've grown through mistakes I've made—and I'd never give up those experiences because they've made me into the person I am today, but to go back to having the mind of a child....

Children are so beautiful. They look at the world with fresh eyes, they wonder why there is such a thing as "can't", they create with such abandon.

I had the opportunity to help my friend Amy out with a school project by taking some photos of her nephews and niece. When I saw the little girl's My Little Ponies, somewhere a rewind switch turned on in my brain—remembering when I used to play with those beautiful colored unicorns, ponies, and pegasuses. Or in my book, the best kind where the hybrids that were BOTH unicorn AND pegasus.

I'm so thankful that I can work with children on a regular basis. They bring such joy into my life and let me see a new perspective of the world. Take time to celebrate, to cry, to laugh, to dance, to sing, to forgive. We were meant to live. Live your life with abandon.
You only have one shot.

{More} Wedding Details

I haven't posted many wedding things on here recently and since I'm getting married in less than 3 months (WOOT!) I'll be stepping that up more. Here's a peek at invitation envelopes and flowers.

Journey

Today was one of those really fantastic, busy days. My senior class graphic design exhibition opened today. These pictures show some different elements of the exhibition (including an awesome string installation) and my pieces that were in it.

On another happy note, my website is officially up and running!! Check it out!—

It's exciting to reach new milestones and move on to the next chapter of life.
Life is a journey—enjoy every moment.

Aerobatics (or something similar)

As I went downstairs this morning I looked out the window and this is what I saw.

Take the time to enjoy the small things in life....such as squirrels doing gymnastics on your back patio.

Minneapolis Landmarks

I miss the city. This specific picture was taken in Minneapolis last July using reflections in the window to create the abstract-ness. The different buildings you see are all big parts of Minneapolis history and were vital to its growth.

I love the angles and the unexpected twists and the colors in this photo. Look at the world differently some days. You'll find the neatest things.

Mood Board Inspiration

I've had such a fun journey defining who I am as an artist as I finish up my official schooling. I promise you though that I will NEVER stop learning. There's a whole world of art out there—why would I let myself miss out on anything?

In my portfolio class I've been working on branding myself. I've been taught (and have found it a very effective
practice) to create a mood board as I start a new project. So, I did a mood board for me. Me as an artist. To start my mood board I found a whole bunch of pictures that are inspirational to me. These photos are some examples. I hope that you will see a part of who I am as an artist, and that these ideas will somehow rock your world like they have mine.
